GAISCE Annual Report 2007

August 14th, 2007

The Gaisce Annual Report 2006 is now available at www.gaisce.ie

For the first time, Tar Éis Óir received a substantial write up in the report, an indication of the valuable relationship shared with Gaisce. The following is from the Gaisce Annual Report:

Tar Éis Óir is a very special society for people who have completed and are participating in the President’s Gold Award. The society aims to provide Awardees with a platform where they can continue President’s Award related activities; meet other Awardees and ultimately become President’s Award leaders themselves, particularly after they have received the President’s Award’s highest merit, the Gold Award. The journey, the personal development and the adventures shouldn’t cease with this recognition… in fact, Tar Éis Óir feel this should be only the beginning!

Tar Éis Óir has the following objectives:

  • To support the President’s Award in the further development of the Award scheme.
  • To provide a forum for the views of Award holders on Award related matters to be sought and passed on to Council.
  • To encourage Gold Award holders to become President’s Award Leaders.
  • To establish links with award holders internationally.
  • To provide members with social and other activities for their continued personal development.

Tar Éis Óir has taken large strides in the last year to develop into a strong, focused and active society. A strong, dedicated committee has been elected who have created a vision of where the society would like to be and a strategic plan of how to achieve its objectives in the long term for the benefit of everyone involved.
